Hi All!
I hope your New Year is off to a great start. As always, here is your weekly On-Track advice, a list of tips and tricks to keep you on track with your goals in life and business.
1. “Life is a balance between what we can control and what we cannot.” — Danielle Orner
There’s are a limited number of things in life that you have control over. You can’t control the weather, traffic, or how someone is going to treat you. Though negative outcomes are inevitable, getting upset about them is a waste of your precious energy.
On the other hand, some of the variables that you can control are your attitude, effort, and focus. When you focus on the outcomes you can influence, it won’t be up to luck how well you do in life.
2. “Happiness is not a matter of intensity, but of balance, order, rhythm, and harmony.” — Thomas Merton
How have you been approaching your goals lately? Like a sprint or a marathon? My research on successful entrepreneurs has shown repeatedly that long-term consistency trumps short-term intensity.
If you put all your efforts towards a single activity and forget about the rest, you will struggle to balance the many tasks that come with running a business. It might also cause you to burn out and lose interest in your goals.
3. “Give it your all when you feel energized. That’s how you achieve your best results.” — Mike van der Poel
This week’s blog post, “Knowing Your Biological Prime Time is The Ultimate Productivity Hack”, will help you make the most out of your precious time. It works by doing your most challenging tasks of the day when you feel most energized. After playing around with this method for some time, I can attest that it is one of the best ways to increase your productivity.
Until next week,
Mike van der Poel
