I hope you had yet another great week. As always, here’s your weekly On-Track advice, a list of tips and tricks to keep you on track with your goals in life and business.
1. “It takes guts and humility to admit mistakes. Admitting we’re wrong is courage, not weakness.” ― Roy T. Bennett
Have you ever met a person who never admits they’re wrong? Someone who doesn’t talk about their flaws and claims that they’re good at everything they do?
I’m sure you have. And chances are that you couldn’t relate to them because you don’t share many similarities. We all have flaws and imperfections, and admitting to them makes us more likeable, relatable, and truthful.
2. “A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.” — Mark Twain
Positive self-talk is one of the most effective exercises for boosting your confidence. Rather than letting your inner critic drag you down, tell yourself things you’d like to hear from someone you care about.
Tell yourself, “I like the way I dressed today” or simply say, “I like myself.” Repeat this out loud 5 to 10 times in a row and notice how you feel. This does not just boost your self-image, but will also make you more resilient to criticism. 3. “Criticism comes to those who stand out.” — Seth Godin
Someone who receives a lot of criticism is often also someone who is successful in their career, relationships, or in the way they go about life. They stick out from the crowd and stand under the spotlight for many to see.
The next time you receive harsh feedback from somebody without asking, note the source. It’s likely that the person criticizing you is envious and wants to bring you down so they can feel better about themselves.
